Haan-Hülsberg to Haan-Gruiten

We begin in Haan, from where the course of the neanderland STEIG is soon directed towards the Itter Valley (Ittertal).

We pass under a gigantic earth wall, on which the Cologne ( Köln ) - Wuppertal railway runs, and then past the Caspersbroich moated castle (Wasserschloss Casperbroich).

The path continues into the Itter Valley (Ittertal), where we frequently encounter industrial cottages and old metalworking water mills; here the Klingenpfad trail joins us for almost the entire valley.

We continue to walk beside the Itter, until we head northwards through a side valley. Near the Friends-of-Nature house (Naturfreundehaus) Solingen we run into the Bergischer Weg path, which joins the neanderland STEIG for a good while. At the end of the stage we arrive at Gruiten Station (Bahnhof), where our walk for today ends.
